The Sully Lane House

Designed as a retreat from city life and an eventual retirement home, the Sully House sits beside the South Toe River in a setting that does most of the heavy lifting. The design leans into that: simple, well-crafted, and settled quietly into the forest rather than imposing on it.

At just under 1200 square feet, the floor plan is straightforward and livable, but the porches are where the house really opens up. Post and beam construction frames a screened porch off the bedroom and French doors lead directly to the deck, putting you a single step from the woods at any moment of the day. The river is just out of sight but never out of earshot; a constant presence that makes this small house feel like exactly the place you came to find.
