A Little Context

Equinox Woodworks is a worker-owned cooperative rooted in the South Toe Valley of Western North Carolina. We design and build custom homes, timber frames, and commercial spaces, combining rigorous building science with craftsmanship meant to last generations.

We build beyond code; our homes meet NC Green Built and Net Zero standards, with airtight envelopes, exceptional thermal performance, and details that hold up over decades. Everyone here has an ownership stake in the work, which means when you hire Equinox, you get a crew that's genuinely invested in the outcome.

Equinox Woodworks is a proud member of the Green Built Alliance and we encourage our clients to build homes that qualify for the Green Built Homes program.  We are also members of the Asheville Home Builders Association and a Certified Living Wage organization.  

Todd Kindberg, Company Manager of Equinox Woodworks, is a licensed NC contractor (#87526) and carries full worker’s compensation and liability insurance.
